Ep. 33: The One Mind Perspective with Dr. Larry Dossey

“There’s something about us that couldn’t die, even if it tried,” says Dr. Larry Dossey, a New York Timesbest-selling author and distinguished Texas physician.

In this special rebroadcast interview, Steve Farrell and Dr. Dossey talk extensively about One Mind, both a life perspective and the title of one of Larry’s many books.

Most of us realize that the Western culture's general emphasis on individuality and self-responsibility has its place but can only “take” us so far as individuals and collectively as a species. We can look around and easily see the results of the inclination toward dominating the world around us.

Larry talks about how we “took a wrong turn” when we took a deep dive into how the mind works and, in effect, took the mind apart.

“We’ve overlooked the ways minds come together,” Larry says. “I think the evidence for this is simply overwhelming, and it’s time that we corrected this pathological turn and ways of looking at the mind that we have been obsessed with for the 20th Century.”

Steve asks Larry to talk about why this matters, why it’s important that people understand this.

“If we had a deep inner sense of our connectedness, with all sentient life, it would have tremendous moral and ethical consequences on how we behave,” Larry answers.
