“The heart is not merely a metaphor for Love. It is a transmitter of it,” says Dr. Deborah Rozman, HeartMath President and Co-CEO.
My heart is so filled with love!
We’ve all had experiences of putting hand to heart during feelings of great love, joy, and appreciation. Mention of the heart is found all throughout the world of language, including great works of fiction, love poetry, and musical lyrics.
My heart is breaking.
We also often focus on the heart at times of loss, sadness, and distress.
In spiritual traditions, the heart is considered to be at the core of one’s spiritual life. And common practices such as compassion, kindness, listening, and openness are seen as heart-centered.
Why is attention to the heart such a common human response? Is it simply environmental conditioning— something we learned from others — or does it have a scientific foundation? This is where HeartMath and Dr. Rozman come in.
In this podcast, Ep. 24: Power Up Your Heart, Steve Farrell speaks with Deborah and Anna-Mari Pieterse — an advocate and activist for Ubuntu, Africa’s ancient gift of Oneness — about the intelligence of the heart and how our understanding of heart/mind coherence helps us create a better, more loving world.
This conversation provides a big dose of inspiration and encouragement for us to seriously consider and work with the reality of heart-brain coherence in order to have a life experience of more health, wellbeing, connection, and guidance.
