Have you ever wished you could sit down and have a one-on-one conversation with God or the Divine Source? Or what about with a master healer from another galaxy or dimension of existence? Cosmic conversations like this are not limited to mediums and mystics. When ordinary people have a strong intention to receive guidance and are open to however that guidance may show up, the miraculous can happen.
Author and spiritual messenger Neale Donald Walsch is a perfect example of how a regular person can have a dialogue with the Divine and inspire millions around the globe to do the same. For years, Neale had a practice of writing down his thoughts and feelings on a simple yellow legal pad. At a particularly low point in his life in early 1992, he voiced his frustration in an angry letter he wrote to God. And God responded. That initial conversation with God more than thirty years ago continues to this day and has resulted in nine books in Neale’s Conversations with God series.
Although God or the Divine may not show up and speak with us in the same way as Neale, each of us is already having a conversation with Source, only we often aren’t aware that we are. That conversation can come in the form of prayer, meditation, gut feelings, intuitive insights, and seemingly random thoughts that pop into our heads.
We can draw inspiration from Neale’s conversations with God, as well as from cosmic encounters recorded by mediums, channels, and other spiritual messengers. For example, let’s take a look at this excerpt from Neale’s conversation as described in his book, Tomorrow’s God:
“All of the universe is a Living System, every aspect and every element of it interdependent upon the other, a giant matrix of interconnected and interweaving waves of energy, vibrations creating Matter and Form, and that which is neither. The earth is a tiny part, a miniscule speck, in this unfathomably massive System, and you are a tiny part, a miniscule speck within IT. And there are other specks within YOU that, compared to the Whole of You, are tiny and miniscule. Yet no part and no speck of You is unimportant to the Whole of You, for each constitutes what that Whole IS. And so, too, is it with You and the Living System known as the All, which is Life Itself.”
This message is inspiring because it describes the universe as a unified, living system. That means there is no such thing as separation. There is no separation between us and others. No separation between humans and the animals or the Earth. We are all interdependent and connected with everything that exists. That awareness begins to inform the way we behave in daily life. Any positive change we make to our thoughts, our mindset, or our health benefits the whole of existence as well. That’s how powerful each of us is.
Here’s another inspiring excerpt from Tomorrow’s God:
“When you give away that which you thought you lacked – love, compassion, companionship, money, anything – you suddenly experience that you had it to give all along. This changes everything. This turns your thinking completely around, allowing you to see that you have what you thought you lacked. You have it. You have it. Now all you need to do is multiply it. It’s impossible to multiply something you do not have. But now that you know you have it, you can expand that experience easily.”
This is a radical departure from most advice on personal development. According to that advice, because we cannot give what we don’t have, we must first get or become the thing we want to give, such as love, money, or compassion. God, in his Divine dialogue with Neale Donald Walsch, tells him no. It’s not about getting the thing or being the thing. We already have it. We already are it. It’s purely a matter of realizing this is true and living from that truth now.
In Neale’s book Communion with God, God offers an illuminating explanation of how every act is creative:
“Every act is an act of self-definition. Every thought carries the energy of creation. Every word is a declaration of what is true for you. Look to see what you are doing today. Is this how you choose to define yourself? Look to see what you are thinking today. Is this what you wish to create? Look to see what you are saying today. Is this what you desire to be so?”
That dialogue explains in a few short sentences what often takes months or years of personal development work to learn. It shows us how every moment in our ordinary lives is a unique opportunity to create our reality, elevate our collective consciousness, and contribute to the world. By observing our moment-to-moment existence, we can see in real time how our thoughts, words, and actions have creative power.
We can also draw inspiration from other types of dialogues with the spiritual realm. Tom Kenyon, for instance, channels the Hathors through sound. The Hathors are a group of interdimensional, intergalactic beings connected to ancient Egypt and other primordial cultures. Esther Hicks, an American writer and speaker, channels a collective consciousness she calls Abraham. Barbara Marciniak trance channels a collective of multidimensional beings from the Pleiades star system in the constellation of Taurus.
Ponder this excerpt from Barbara Marciniak’s book, Path of Empowerment:
“You must clearly love and accept yourself for who you are, and this is no small task. When you can lovingly recognize yourself as your own creation, you free yourself from the mass-induced trance of powerless living. You must live your life with clear boundaries and distinctions, applying great discernment and discrimination of mind to all you encounter. In addition, you must learn to honestly and openly express your feelings and emphasize your own self-worth as you learn to develop a true love for who you are.”
Accepting ourselves as we are is the key to our own self-worth and self-empowerment. There are no victims. Nothing is happening to us. We are creating ourselves in each moment. That’s inspiring, as it puts us fully in charge of our own happiness.
Here’s another uplifting message from the Pleiadeans:
“If you really want to know and understand what is activated in the deep recesses of your subconscious and unconscious minds, you can access this information by creating a special healing journal and using it to safely record your inner feelings. On the first page, dedicate a letter of introduction from you to your cosmic mind. Clearly set forth your intentions for a healing energy to come through your writings; ask for assistance from your higher mind, and give thanks for all you will discover.” – Barbara Marciniak, Path of Empowerment
As we see here, cosmic conversations don’t just come from intention or prayer. We can initiate a Divine dialogue with our own subconscious mind by journaling. Journaling and automatic writing are also ways to converse with other dimensions and realities. In fact, it was writing that led to Neale Donald Walsch’s first conversation with God. During a particularly unhappy period of his life, Neale sat down and wrote a passionate letter to God about why his life wasn’t working. As Neale recounts in Book One of Conversations with God, “to my surprise, as I scribbled out the last of my bitter, unanswerable questions and prepared to toss my pen aside, my hand remained poised over the paper, as if held there by some invisible force. Abruptly, the pen began moving on its own. I had no idea what I was about to write, but an idea seemed to be coming, so I decided to flow with it.”
