“The work of this lifetime is to be a little kinder,” says Joan Borysenko, PhD,distinguished pioneer in integrative medicine and world-renowned expert in the mind/body connection.
Kindness. What does that look like for you?
For Joan, it begins with being kind to herself.
“Take a breath,” she says in encouragement, “and don’t mistake your emotional state for who you are.”
“Before sleep, decide to forgive, make amends.”
“...fall asleep with a heart that feels clear.”
Being kind to oneself and to others is more than an emotional strategy. Much more.
A human being is actually 50 trillion cells suspended in tissue culture medium. In Joan’s experiments when she worked in the field of cancer cell biology, she saw that when you change the “nutrients” of that medium, you get the cells to look and behave like they were normal cells, not cancer cells.
In this special rebroadcast, Joan and Steve Farrell, worldwide executive director of Humanity’s Team, delve deeply into the relationship between emotional health and physical health, and they share personal stories about the moments when they decided to change the trajectory of their lives toward more kindness, more connection, and more service in the world.
