Life Conforming to Itself: The Reflective Nature of Existence

Life is an intricate tapestry woven from countless threads of connection, each responding, evolving, and reflecting the others. At the heart of this grand interconnectedness lies a profound truth: all of life is One, and every experience we encounter mirrors back an aspect of ourselves.

Through our interactions, situations, and even through the animals in our lives, life offers us glimpses of our own frequencies; the energy we emit through our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Whether conscious or unconscious.


Understanding this can transform the way we see our experiences, revealing them not as isolated events but as mirrors that reflect our inner landscape. When we recognise that all of life is interacting with Itself, we begin to see everyone and everything we encounter as a messenger of self-reflection, offering gifts that guide us toward deeper self-awareness.


Each of us emits a unique energetic frequency, a vibration shaped by our inner states. This frequency isn’t just an abstract idea; it’s a tangible force that influences everything around us. We’ve all noticed how our presence affects the mood in a room. When we are calm and grounded, others often feel at ease; when we are tense or stressed, those around us may pick up on that unease. Similarly, we can enter a room and sense the energy immediately, which will impact the experience we have at that time and even alter our mood to suit the situation

at hand.


These frequencies act as a call to the universe, attracting experiences, people, and events that resonate with whatever we are ‘putting out’. For example, if we’re carrying unresolved anger, we may encounter situations that trigger that very emotion. Alternatively, when we project peace and kindness, we tend to attract experiences that mirror that peaceful frequency.


However, it’s not always that simple. We all have underlying frequencies that we emit which affect us and our lives unconsciously, and they can be triggered by a ‘messenger’ at any time which can knock us off balance and take us by surprise. Knowing this can not only help us be more resilient to the experiences we are presented with but also help us realize that these incidents are showing us the deepest unresolved aspects of our consciousness – which may even have come from past or ancestral lives that we are totally unaware of.


Our frequency is like a silent language, sending messages out into the world that life reflects back to itself in countless ways, inviting us rather than feeling we are victims of it to instead understand ourselves more deeply. There is always a gift in our biggest challenges when we are willing to receive them and not resist them, and also potentially opening us up to a deeper

understanding of ourselves.


Life is our most honest mirror. Every interaction, relationship, and encounter offers a reflection of our inner state. When someone’s actions frustrate us, it’s an opportunity to look within and ask, What part of myself is being reflected here? Where am I showing aspects of this experience - rigidity, anger, etc.? Why do I tend to attract this kind of experience from different ‘messengers’?

What is the bigger picture of this experience?


Imagine a day filled with frustrating encounters. The drivers on the road seem impatient, or a colleague’s words feel overly harsh. These situations are not punishments or bad luck—they are messengers, revealing where we might need healing, forgiveness, or adjustment within ourselves. Seen from this perspective, challenges become opportunities and a chance to reflect on our inner world and shift the frequency we’re emitting.


Animals are also remarkably attuned to the energy around them and often serve as pure reflections of our inner state. Because they don’t carry the same cognitive filters that humans do, animals respond authentically to the energy they sense. This is why, when we’re anxious or distracted, our animals might seem unsettled or agitated; conversely, when we’re calm, they

tend to relax and mirror that peacefulness.


Our animals become direct reflections of our emotions, often showing us parts of ourselves we may not even recognise. For example, a dog that pulls on the leash might not only be expressing their energy but also mirroring their guardian’s internal state – be that tension, restlessness, or eagerness.


These behaviors offer us a chance to pause, observe, and ask ourselves, What am I bringing to this relationship, and how is my energy influencing my animal companion? What do I need that I am seeing expressed through them? Most of us need to feel safe, so in any situation building trust and confidence is always a good place to start.


One of the greatest obstacles in recognising life’s reflections is the tendency to take things personally. When we feel judged, criticized, or challenged, it’s easy to place blame or label others as unfair, difficult or otherwise. However, these interactions are not personal attacks. They are mirrors of our inner world, reflecting our own thoughts, beliefs, and emotions back to us.


Generally, what we can see through Life experiences is our own vulnerabilities and a cry for support and acceptance. By releasing the need to take reflections personally, we open ourselves to receiving life’s lessons with curiosity and openness. Instead of seeing a challenging person as an adversary, we can view them as a messenger. Taking away the anger and hatred towards them, we can see the opportunity as a gift.


People are conforming to the energies and frequencies around them and sometimes are surprised themselves by how they acted towards another, saying things like, ‘that’s not like me’. Sometimes the situation or strength of the frequencies at play seem to make us feel like we had no choice and behaviors came through us rather than from us. They’re not acting a certain way to us; rather, they are reflecting something in us. This shift from reaction to reflection allows us to approach life’s challenges as gifts of self-awareness and growth, transforming every encounter into an opportunity for self-discovery. That’s not to say that we should all strive to be the best we can be and take as much responsibility for our actions as possible.


Sometimes we can attract some dangerous situations to ourselves through the fears we hold or issues we may have with unworthiness. The ‘messengers’ attracted to these frequencies are serving a higher purpose, and can be showing us to love and value ourselves, reminding us that we are worthy. This can either empower us to overcome these challenges and remove them from our lives vibrationally, or, to be victims of them and blaming circumstances for the experiences we have, which can perpetuate the situations to be experienced again and again.


I realize that this is a controversial approach. However, if for example you are ill, saying affirmations and taking tablets to get better will not resolve the underlying root cause; the thinking and frequency that attracted the sickness in the first place. That is like trying to change the reflection in the mirror rather than the root cause.


Making changes seemingly ‘outside’ of ourselves will not bring the desired result if the frequency isn’t addressed that attracted the situation in the first place. In some cases however, removing yourself and getting to safety will solve the immediate risks and challenges but not the deeper root cause of them, leaving you open to the possibility of a similar experience in the future. We all know people who are in the ‘same relationship’ but with different people. Or those who always have similar things happening ‘to them’ throughout their lives… until the underlying thoughts are resolved nothing will change. After all, as Albert Einstein once famously said, "We cannot solve our problems with the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." 


When we begin to see life as One interconnected whole, it becomes clear that everything we encounter is part of a greater dance; a dance where each of us plays a unique part. Every interaction, every thought, every emotion ripples out, subtly influencing others and ultimately returning to us in various forms. Whether we like them or not.


This interconnectedness means that life is constantly communicating with itself. We are both the sender and the receiver, the observer and the observed. Like a vast web, the threads of life are intricately woven together, and every pull, every vibration affects the whole perfectly.


When we bring our attention to this Oneness, we realize that each person or experience is simply life interacting with itself, reflecting back our own energy and inviting us to learn, grow, and evolve.


How do we consciously work with these reflections in our daily lives? First, we can cultivate mindfulness—a practice that helps us stay present and aware of our inner state. By paying attention to our emotions and reactions, we can become more intentional about the energy we emit.


For example, if we find ourselves frequently feeling frustrated in certain situations, we can pause and reflect on what we’re bringing to those moments. What frequency are we emitting, and how might it be attracting these experiences? And, where might I be bringing this energy within myself?


When we approach each encounter with an open heart and a willingness to learn, we become co-creators of our reality. We begin to emit frequencies aligned with peace, compassion, and understanding, inviting life to reflect those qualities back to us.


However, since we live in a dual world, it is rare to be continually in balance, so Life brings us constant opportunities to self-reflect and see where something has moved out of balance. Life is continually evolving and we, as Its expressions, need to be in the flow of continual growth and the evolution of consciousness too.


Life’s reflections are gifts that guide us on our journey of self-discovery. Every person, situation, or animal that mirrors an aspect of ourselves offers us an opportunity to grow. By seeing these reflections as part of the One interconnected whole, we can let go of judgment, cultivate compassion, and open ourselves to the lessons that life continually presents.


In recognising this dance, we become aware of life’s Oneness and embrace the reflections it offers with gratitude. Each encounter, whether challenging or joyful, is an invitation to understand ourselves and to become more intentional about what we emit into the world. Life, in its beautiful complexity, is constantly conforming to itself—mirroring back the frequencies we send out, inviting us to align with our highest potential, and guiding us ever closer

to our truest selves.
