Perfectly imperfect

I've been around Humanities Team for several years. Lately there's been no word from anyone at HT USA which has me wondering if the organization is alive or if I just dropped off the radar screen? I'm hoping the latter because all that's needed is for me to reconnect. Being in Iowa I'm well aware that folks on the coasts think we're inconsequential, and we are to them, but there's a lot going on in my neck of the woods. The fact is I live in an area where finding people who align with new thought is a challenge. It's certainly not impossible and in fact there is a rather active group that numbers in the hundreds here in Des Moines. There seems to be a disconnect between what happens in HT at the national level and what happens locally. As a long time state coordinator I have to "own" that.

Now state coordinators have gone the way of the dinosaur, to be replaced by what? That's been my question all along, what does Humanities Team offer? People have joined, but what have they joined? I was told there were newsletters, but I never received one. I've written newsletters for my day job, but there's not much HT related that's actually going on in this area. I do see peace movements, I see some level of activism. Something is happening. Oprah is touting Ekhart Tolle! So there's a groundswell of thought and that's exciting.

If there's a disconnect it's philosophical. Neale doesn't want to lead nor does HT. So we leave it to Oprah to help us spread the word about what new spirituality means. Afterall she can reach more people in an hour than HT could reach in a decade. I got something from Neale about a new thought musical that's being produced in Oregon. Well that doesn't help me, but if somebody would tell me how I could order a DVD then I might be interested.

I'm working on putting together a musical act of my own. A sample of which (3 songs) can be found at www.audiostreet.net/stevelight.

In light of all the above it's interesting how imperfectly everything seems to be turning ou perfectly.
