HT South Africa's 'Whole in One'

Humanity’s Team SA hosted their 2nd successful “Whole-in-One” Golf Day on April 4th at the beautiful Pretoria Country Club, hosted by Gary Bailey, a quite famous Manchester United football/soccer goalkeeper in the early 1980's, now a well-known South African Sports host and commentator, a sought after speaker on 2010 World Cup, and...quite notably...a Humanity’s Team SA Teammate.

This annual event is a gentle wake-up call to the idea of Oneness.

"Let us imagine that spirituality is not something otherworldly and esoteric, but as an inherent natural process of ordinary human existence. Let us stop attempting to add a special spiritual dimension to life and recognize that life is the spiritual process. “This is it. This and no other. Not what it chanced to be, but simply what it must be, without the must.” - Plotinus

And such is a day of golf!

This quote best describes what already exists as a backdrop for this exciting annual event. It reminds us that we are already spiritual, and that we are already whole. That it is through the denial and rejection of...and our resistance to...the parts of our self and life that we judge as “bad, wrong, or not good enough”, that we experience a missing and a brokenness. Oneness and Wholeness is Who We Are.

As 18 organizations gathered to enjoy a day of golf, they were supported by a fun loving group of volunteers who gently familiarized them with some of our thought provoking core principles and ideas:

  • - Five Steps to Peace
  • - We Are All One
  • - If not you, WHO? If not now, WHEN?
  • - Awakening the World to Oneness
  • - Building a Bridge into a New Tomorrow
  • - BE the change you wish to see in the world.

This year the call for Oneness was highlighted on three theme holes: Spirituality (Humanity’s Team), The Children of the World, and Family Life. Two major South African charities seized the opportunity to showcase their work and message.

What a great way to get more and more people to play the inner game of golf, to play in Humanity’s Team, and to practice Being One!
